You Are Released From Pain 02.13.08
"And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God." (Luke 13:10-13).
To have an infirmity means to be weak and in pain physically, mentally, and spiritually. This pour woman had been in pain for 18 years, I imagine that as the years grew on she became worse as her spirit began to fade. However, this woman had just enough faith in Jesus that when He touched her she was healed instantly.
I will tell you that we are nothing without a healthy spirit. I have a quote that I wrote, many treatments can be given, many words can be spoken, but if it is not in the heart all is lost. The heart is more than just an organ to keep us alive, it is the inner spirit within us, the center of everything that keeps us functioning. A person can not be physically and mentally fit if our spirit is weak.
I have been there and know what it feels like to be in such pain, unfortunately satan knows my weaknesses and he uses them often to try and bring me back to my infirmity. In fact he has been messing with me for a few weeks now, that is why I have not been writing these messages as frequently as I do. He weakens my spirit and it keeps me from hearing God speak to me so I end up losing focus of Him.
However, we have a great and mighty God and what does not kill us makes us stronger through Him. God is right there guiding us and protecting us, He never forsakes us and is always waiting on us to call on Him to touch us. Right now, I am calling on Jesus to release me from my infirmity:
Jesus, You are the Lord of my life, You are my Saviour and my Salvation. I have faith and trust in You. Lord, lossen me from my infirmity, make me straight and whole again. I need you, Lord, I need You to touch me and heal my fading spirit, I know I am nothing without You. In Your mighty name, Jesus' I pray....Amen.
